Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026

B-LOW (B-low Wellness, “B-LOW”, “we”, “us”) is strongly committed to protecting your privacy while you use our website, content, products and services. We want to provide a safe and secure environment for you.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect about you, how we use it, who we share it with, how we keep it safe, and how you can access, correct or delete it or make a complaint. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

This policy applies only to B-LOW and not to other companies’ or organisations’ websites that B-LOW links to.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use B-LOW, we may collect:

  • Account details — your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored in an encrypted (hashed) form; we can never see them.
  • Membership and billing details — your plan, its start and renewal dates and your payment history. Card payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • What you add while using B-LOW — meal plans, favourite recipes (including changes you make to them), your daily carb limit, and the target and actual weights you record in the weight tracker.
  • Messages you send us — through the contact form, “Ask a question”, or by email.
  • Newsletter sign-ups — your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
  • Technical information — such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, which our hosting provider records automatically to keep the website running and secure.

How much personal information you share with us is up to you. You can browse the public pages of our website without telling us who you are. To become a member we need at least your name and email address; without them we can’t provide the membership.

Health Information

Your weights and carb limit may be “health information”, which the law treats as sensitive. We only collect it when you choose to enter it, which you consent to by doing so, and we use it only to show you your own progress and plans. We never use it for marketing and never share it, except with the service providers that store it for us or where the law requires. You can delete weight entries at any time in the weight tracker, or ask us to delete them for you.

Use of Anonymous Information

B-LOW may use anonymous, aggregated information, such as the number and frequency of visitors to our website, to see which parts of the site are used most so we can improve it. This information does not identify you.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use your personal information to:

  • create and manage your account and membership, including billing;
  • provide the recipes, meal planner, carb counts, favourites and weight tracker;
  • reply to your questions and messages;
  • send you service emails, such as password resets and important notices about your account, membership or price changes;
  • send you our newsletter, if you have subscribed to it;
  • keep our website secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations; and
  • improve our website and services.

B-LOW will not use your personal information for any other purpose without your consent, unless the law allows or requires it.

Marketing Emails

We only send you our newsletter or offers if you have subscribed. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time. Service emails about your account or membership are not marketing and will still be sent while you are a member.

Disclosure

There will be occasions where it is necessary for B-LOW to disclose your personal information to third parties: where the law requires it, or to provide the service you have asked for. We use trusted service providers to run B-LOW, and they only receive the information they need to do their job:

  • Stripe — processes membership payments;
  • Vercel — hosts our website;
  • Neon — stores our database, in Sydney, Australia;
  • Resend — delivers our emails, such as password resets; and
  • Mailchimp — sends our newsletter, if you have subscribed.

Overseas Disclosure

Some of these providers are based in, or may store or process information in, other countries, including the United States. When we use providers overseas we take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, for example by using well-established providers with strong security and privacy commitments.

No Sale of Personal Information

Under no circumstances will B-LOW sell or receive payment for licensing or disclosing your personal information.

Cookies

Our website uses a small number of essential cookies, for example to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our payment provider, Stripe, may set its own cookies on its payment pages to prevent fraud. If you block cookies in your browser, you won’t be able to log in.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. Our website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, passwords are stored in an encrypted (hashed) form, and access to member information is restricted. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so please keep your password secret and log out on shared devices.

If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm to you, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your personal information while your account is open and for as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet legal requirements (for example, payment and tax records). When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous. You can ask us to close your account and delete your information at any time by emailing info@b-low.com.au.

Access and Correction

You can update your name and email address at any time in My Account. You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@b-low.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. If we can’t give you access or make a correction, we will tell you why.

Children

B-LOW is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 without a parent’s or guardian’s consent.

Complaints About Privacy

If you have a question or complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us at info@b-low.com.au or through our contact page. We will investigate and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new “last updated” date, and if the changes are significant we will also let members know by email.
